Multicultural Queensland Month 2025
Multicultural Queensland Month (MQM) is an annual statewide initiative held each August to recognise and promote Queensland’s cultural diversity.
The 2025 theme, “One Queensland, many stories”, invites us all to reflect on and share the stories that connect us—stories of migration, culture, resilience, community, and belonging.
Our stories shape who we are and how we live together. By sharing and listening to these stories, we build stronger, more inclusive communities.
We invite everyone to join us in celebrating the richness of our multicultural society through a vibrant month of events, storytelling, performances and learning.
Queensland’s cultural diversity is one of our greatest assets—let’s celebrate the stories that connect us.
Get involved
Throughout the month everyone is welcome to take part. There are many ways to get involved:
- share your story with colleagues or friends, whether about your culture, background, or personal journey. You could also post on social media using #MQM25 and tag @MulticulturalQLD
- attend local multicultural or community events
- get involved by hosting your own event during the month
- learn more about the rich cultural diversity in Queensland and how to take action towards a more inclusive multicultural Queensland.
