About the Community Foundation

The Australian South Sea Islander Community Foundation provides university scholarships for Australian South Sea Islander undergraduate students.

As trustee of the Queensland Community Foundation, the Public Trustee of Queensland is responsible for the administration, investment and granting of funds under the Australian South Sea Islander Community Foundation.

About the scholarship program

Four universities are currently involved :

  • James Cook University
  • Sunshine Coast University
  • Central Queensland University
  • Queensland University of Technology.

Scholarship funding is distributed equally among participating universities, on an annual basis.

Upon receipt of scholarship funds, each participating university determines the scholarship amount to offer.

Donations

Individuals and the corporate sector are invited to make financial contributions to support the fund.

The Queensland Community Foundation is tax exempt and, as such donations made during your lifetime are tax deductible.
