During Multicultural Queensland Month, the Brisbane Lions will be proudly hosting Heritage Round at The Gabba — a vibrant celebration of diversity that goes far beyond the footy. With pre-game atmosphere buzzing with lively cultural performances showcasing music and dance, a key highlight of the day is the official citizenship ceremony for up to 50 new Australians. Guests then enjoy their first-ever AFL match live, seated alongside Lions fans who enthusiastically welcome and explain the game Heritage Round is much more than a themed footy game—it’s a welcoming, unifying event where diverse communities are celebrated, new citizens are honoured, and everyone gets a taste of the multicultural heart of Brisbane — all under the roar of The Gabba’s lights. Heritage Round will be celebrated at the Gabba on Saturday August 9.
