Opening soon: Women's Career Grants

Women across Queensland who are unemployed can soon apply for financial assistance through the Queensland Government’s new Women’s Career Grants program.

The Women's Career Grants program is a Queensland Government initiative that offers practical financial assistance to unemployed women seeking secure employment. The program aims to ease financial barriers to employment and help women rejoin the workforce.

How much are the grants?

Successful applicants will be able to receive up to $4,999.

What can the grants be spent on?

This financial assistance can be used to buy essential items to help women securing a job including workwear, job readiness assistance, technology, childcare and recertifications and training. Detailed examples of what the assistance can be used for will be available soon.

Who can apply?

To be eligible applicants must:

  • Be a woman aged 18 years or older.
  • Reside in Queensland.
  • Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, New Zealand citizen, or temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits.
  • Be unemployed for 6 months or more and ready to re-enter the workforce.
  • Provide the required evidence and not have received funding from this program previously.
