October is Indigenous Business Month (IBM), an exciting time for all Australians to celebrate and recognise the innovation, leadership and success of Aboriginal- and Torres Strait Islander-owned businesses.

This year’s theme, 'Strength through Collaboration', highlights the unstoppable power of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses working together and teaming up with allies.

Whether it’s two businesses pairing up or a whole community coming together, it reminds us that strong partnerships built on trust and shared goals create real and lasting impact.

Discover three ways you can show your support now and beyond Indigenous Business Month.

1. Diversify your supply chain

Queensland is proud to be home to a strong and diverse network of Aboriginal- and Torres Strait Islander-owned businesses that provide exceptional services across all sectors.

2 . Get involved in celebrations hosted in your community

IBM provides a valuable opportunity for communities to come together in-person and online to celebrate, promote, and support Aboriginal- and Torres Strait Islander- owned businesses.

Throughout October, individuals and organisations are encouraged to host or participate in local events that showcase the innovation and contributions of these businesses.
